Shit man, I couldn’t resist making another phat beat with a Philip Glass hook.  He’s the man.  Anyways, hope you enjoy it.

This one was sampled from the Phillip Glass song “Prophecies” off his album Koyaanisqatsi.  It’s a totally awesome album, and song.  Here is the original song –   All right, I got to get my ass outside – I’ve been in front of the screen for too long.  Good night.

Driving in Seoul

January 29, 2010 at 3:05 pm (Rap Beats)

Behold another evil creation – inspired by the dirt and grime of Seoul as seen from a moving car.  This one is entirely constructed from a sample of a song by the Chi-Lights called “have you seen her?” with some drums thrown on top.  The major lead elements in this song were created by tweaking out what is in essence a chorus/flanger pedal.

Here is the original song that was sampled at around four seconds – “have you seen her?”  Totally awesome.

Afro Pop Mix

January 24, 2010 at 2:32 pm (Mix Cd's)

This is my first playlist, I hope you guys enjoy these songs. I think they are real bad ass, Especially “Heaven”, and “Bukom Mashi”. The first four songs are taken from a CD called Ghana Sounds, featuring 1970’s Ghanaian fusion musicians. Totally bad.

The Pick and the Sickle

January 23, 2010 at 5:20 pm (Originals, Rap Beats)

Earlier today I was worried.  I came to the realization that I had of late, been channeling the dark and powerful forces of Electro-pop too vigorously – with it’s slick polyester feel.  i knew it was time to take the proverbial  party “from the club, to the graveyard”.  Hence, i give you the pick and the sickle – A hip hop beat inspired by all the great times i have spent in graveyards…digging up corpses.  BWAHAHAHAHAH…

Sorry guys – due to Kate’s visit here in Korea I haven’t really had much time to make any songs.  I made this one pretty fast – all synths and samples as usual.

bomb it

January 10, 2010 at 2:46 pm (Not Rap, Originals)

This song is about people who bomb sweeeeet graffiti, and how they are badass.  This one is really bare bones – i didn’t put a lead melody on it or anything, although i want to put a sweet portamento synth lead on top it – maybe next week.  I guess i used my one freebee for the month.   Anyways, this one is ripe for collaboration.

The Trade Off

January 3, 2010 at 4:34 pm (Not Rap, Originals)

Whew! I just made it.  My first week is now complete.  This song is really more accurately described as a simple instrument loop…I might put some drums on it, or you should.

Synth Sketch

So this is my first post.  Happy New Year’s!  When I made this song, I was envisioning sad and desperate romance/love making, in the dark future™”..obviously.  Oh yeah baby.
